What are ETFs?

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are passive index funds that are listed and traded like stocks on exchanges. ETFs offer real-time trading, anytime pricing, significantly lower commission costs than unit trusts and an effective means of trading a basket of shares -- index, sector or commodity -- through a single transaction.
